We Love Milwaukee

Dominion Properties emerged from a friendship, a partnership that was ignited by two regular guys, Christopher Adams and Michael O'Connor, in a dorm room at Marquette University. However a "big" idea doesn't become a reality without dedication, perseverance, savvy business skills, and a whole lot of hard work. Since 2000, we have literally been getting our hands dirty, working tirelessly to enhance some of Milwaukee's most vibrant neighborhoods. Why? Because we love this city and the people and buildings in it. This work is our passion; our purpose. It's how we make a difference every day.

Building Communities

From Whitefish Bay to Milwaukee's vibrant East Side, we purchase and invest in properties that need a little help. From historic buildings on busy streets like Belleview, Oakland and North, to underappreciated, undiscovered treasures in quiet neighborhoods, we have invested our savings, our time and our resolve to bring them back to their prime. Project after project, we have grown our portfolio. But what really matters to us is that we have created great places to live, places that people are proud to call home. These people are our residents. Every decision we make is based on what is right for the neighborhood and our residents — because giving back and contributing to our community is our ultimate goal.

Honor the Past, Welcome the Future

The team members at Dominion Properties are proud Milwaukeeans. Since 1986 we have lived and worked in the neighborhoods we continue to support. We will never forget where our "big" idea took root and how our residents' positive ideas and feedback regarding sustainability and community have helped guide us and our success. Every day we are looking for new opportunities to make a difference; a historic building to rehab, an infill property to enhance a neighborhood or a location where we can introduce a new level of sustainable living. We look forward to investing more in Milwaukee and hope you look forward to living in a Dominion property!

If you have heard of Dominion Properties, then we are sure you know Mike! He is the networking, big picture guy and creative visionary that every good partnership needs. While he's just as willing to get his hands dirty as any other member of the Dominion Properties' team, he likes to focus on fostering relationships in the Milwaukee business and real estate community. Growing up Mike made frequent moves between the cities of Milwaukee, Chicago, and Atlanta, but chose to return to earn a degree in Political Science from Marquette University. This political thinking helps him analyze situations, make good business decisions and build quality relationships. Outwardly, Mike is very social and fun to be around, while inwardly he is serious about finding properties, exploring them and closing the deal. He has a gifted vision about the potential of what each property and project could become and the energy to see that it does.

Mike believes in neighborhood integrity, sustainability and leaving a legacy; he wants Dominion Properties to leave a positive mark on Milwaukee. Recently receiving the 2012 "Cream of the Cream City Award" from the Historic Preservation Commission of the City of Milwaukee, Mike is recognized as a thoughtful steward of historic buildings. While the company greatly benefits from his leadership, so do the organizations he is involved with-- the Southeastern Wisconsin Apartment Association, Milwaukee RING, Milwaukee REIA and the Eastside Milwaukee Community Council. Focused, driven, and outgoing, Mike has big ideas for Dominion Properties and the City of Milwaukee.

His classic car is testimony to the fact that Christopher has an appreciation for great architecture and design. With a BS in structural engineering, he is the analytical, detail-oriented partner at Dominion Properties. While a bit private, he makes a big impact on every project. One day you might find him installing a kitchen in one of our buildings, just because he likes to be hands-on, and the next he will be negotiating the critical details of a multi-million dollar deal. From contractors to bankers, Christopher likes living and breathing every aspect of a project. His dedication to Milwaukee, commitment to sustainability, and love of history are critical in his personal and professional life. Christopher loves architecture and history so much that he and his wife, an associate professor of Art, Design & Architectural History, often plan their vacations around visiting historical locations.

Christopher is a member of the Historic Water Tower Neighborhood Association, Victorian Society in America, Society of Architectural Historians, and Urban Ecology Center. He and his wife have restored two historical homes, and twice he has received the "Cream of the Cream City" award from the Historic Preservation Commission of the City of Milwaukee. He even built a matching playhouse for his kids. Detail-oriented and dedicated, a history and architectural buff, Christopher has a passion for sustainable buildings and exciting plans for Dominion Properties and the City of Milwaukee.
